It was really a perfect All Hallows’ Eve.

Warm, damp, even muggy, with an unpredictably fierce wind that blew Manhattan’s famously late-turning leaves through the air and onto the pavement.

And downtown, ghouls — and heroes — filled the streets by the thousands for the 46th annual Greenwich Village Halloween Parade.

Bwwwaaaaaa...

Whistleblowers — the heroes of the season — are only scary to certain folks.
As the zombie staggered up Sixth Avenue, we couldn’t help but notice that he bled red, not blue.
A queer posse brought together Gays Against Guns and Black Lives Matter, among others.
Determined moms spook the National Rifle Association.
Definitely scarred, definitely scary.
Glinda, Dorothy, and Toto, too.
Just a few of the modern monsters who haunt the American psyche.
Is there anybody who is not scared of clowns?
Carrying the message.
No one can stop us from dancing.
Strawberry Fields forever.
The third Halloween of the Trump Era — and the fifth since that elevator ride: is it toast yet?
It’s all in the eye of the beholder, but he does have an honest smile.
Oops! This wasn’t this Halloween. This was 20 years ago when Rudy Giuliani was trying to destroy the Brooklyn Museum, not the entire nation.
